I've been making jewellery since I was 5 years old. First with big wooden and plastic beads, sometimes even straws. As a teenager I made over-the-top items with many glitters, for me it was never too much :-) Fortunately, since a few years I found out less is more, and I really enjoy finding a good balance between a little sparkle and still remaining stylish.

In each piece I make, I use at least one semi-precious stone, because they're natural and a little magic...

The name "Ekster" is dutch for "magpie", the bird which is said to love all things sparkly...just like me! The logo stands for the initials of my name (EK) and together with the dutch word for "star" (ster) it makes the word "Ekster".
